Who am I?

Welcome to my sanctuary, a place where the coffee is always brewing, and the sarcasm never sleeps. I’m the voice behind “The Chronicles of a Grumpy Middle Manager: Surviving Meetings, Metrics, and Mondays.” You might wonder who I am, but let’s just say I’m someone who’s been around the Silicon Valley block more times than I’d care to admit.

My journey through the tech world has been long and storied. I’ve had the privilege (or perhaps the misfortune) of working for one of the illustrious FAANG companies, alongside many well-known startups that dot the landscape of Silicon Valley like stars in the night sky. Entrepreneurship runs in my veins, and I’ve ventured into the startup world myself a few times, experiencing the exhilarating highs and the soul-crushing lows that come with the territory.

A few years ago, I joined yet another startup, filled with the hope and optimism that characterizes all of us crazy enough to think we can change the world. And change the world we might have, had we not been swallowed whole by an old-school corporate giant. Suddenly, I found myself a small cog in a vast machine, a machine that, to my dismay, operates as if it’s stuck 30 years in the past.

This blog is my anonymous outlet, a space where I can freely express my frustrations, share my experiences, and perhaps offer a bit of wisdom (or at least a few laughs) to those who find themselves in the peculiar purgatory that is middle management. Here, I chronicle the absurdities of corporate life, the endless meetings that could have been Slack messages, the obsession with metrics that measure everything but what truly matters, and the dreaded Mondays that come all too quickly.

Occasionally, some other grumpy middle managers I know — comrades in arms in the daily corporate battle — will contribute their stories to this chronicle.
